| Plan Room
Plans and specifications are furnished by Architects, Engineers and Awarding Agencies for most building projects in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia and are placed in our modern planroom. Additional features available to our members are copying services, computer power and data line connections for laptops, and free parking.
| Copy Services (Members Only)
Copy services of specifications and plans of the projects on file at the Exchange are available at $.20 per spec page and $1.75 or $2.00 per plan page based on size.
You may place an e-mail copy order and request shipping. We will mail or use FEDEX Ground to deliver them to you, unless overnight delivery is indicated on the order form.
***PLEASE NOTE***
For a full set of plan(s), specifications, and bid documents in cases where you are bidding a prime contract, we encourage you to contact the Architect or Engineer.
The documents (blueprints & specifications) from which you obtain your copies are property of the Architectural/Engineering firm noted on the document. Architectural/Engineering firms may request that their document not be reproduced. The Exchange will honor this request. Copies obtained from these documents are to be used expressly for bidding purposes. Please be aware when obtaining a portion or portions of the documents that when submitting a bid on this project you will be held accountable to have thoroughly familiarized yourself with the project as a whole (Invitation to bid, Instructions to bidders, General conditions of the contract, Addenda, etc). The PBE assumes no liability for incomplete documents on any projects. Firms ordering copies of documents agree to hold harmless, without recourse, the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange and the design firm for any errors, omissions, or distortions in the documents. It will be the ordering firm’s responsibility to determine the actual suitability of the copies for their own use.

2008-2009 Questionnaire will be mailed the first week of April
We are now compiling company information, classified and trade name listing for the 2008-2009 Membership Directory and Buyers Guide. Don’t miss out on getting your company listed in the # 1 construction industry guide in the tri-state area.
The Membership Directory and Buyers Guide is a valuable guide for people in the construction industry who keep it handy as a reference for addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, services, products and building materials of member firms.
The Directory also contains an Architect and Engineer section for those who need information regarding design firms in our area.
As a member you will be listed in our Directory in every classification and/or trade name category for a nominal fee. This Directory is distributed to Architects, Engineers, and Award Agencies with each new issue.

| Internet Planroom Advertising
Media & File Format
1. We accept digital files on cd-rom or dvd-rom disks on either Macintosh or PC Platforms
2. Files may be sent via e-mail to fhof@thegraphxfactory.com.
Files being sent electronically should be contained within folders and zipped or stuffed before sending.
3. Acceptable file types include Adobe Photoshop files, Adobe Illustrator files, .tif, .eps and high quality .jpg and .gif files.
4. Graphic and photo files should be AT LEAST 150 dpi. Graphics and photos downloaded from the internet will not be accepted, as the resolution (commnly 72 dpi) is far too low and image quality will be lost.
5. Camera ready artwork should be clean and sharp.

Ad Charges
1. $125/month for 1/2 column ad.
2. $200/month for full column ad.
3. 6 month commitment waives creation fee.
GXF Design Set-up Charges
1. $150 for 1/2 column ad.
2. $200 for full column ad.
All ads are based on a 3-4 hour production time. There is a 50.00 dollar per hour charge for additional time. We will email a quote for additional time approval. Photography is available at www.gxfdesign.com for an additional cost, PBE Membership discount available.

| Scholarships
The Pittsburgh Builders Exchange has awarded thousands of dollars since 1979 to students with construction industry goals in mind to assist them in pursuing careers in the Architectural/Engineering and Construction Management fields, just to name a few.
Beginning in 1979, the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange started to work with Penn State University in attracting and retaining students in pursuing careers in the construction industry. In addition, the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange has committed a pledge of $25,000.00 to support the efforts of the University of Pittsburgh to “build” a Construction Management program.
Until 1994 the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange has awarded two scholarships in the amount of $1,500.00 each. Due to the increasing costs of education, the Board of Directors increased the two scholarship amounts to $3,000.00 each.
Each year in May the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange sends out information regarding our scholarship program to our member firms. The application deadline is in July.
Above are examples of the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange and its Directors’ ongoing commitment to the encouragement and betterment of our industry. We are proud that we can help along the careers of these students and hope that ultimately they will make contributions to the construction industry someday.
